DOMAINE DE L'HORTGRAND

His vineyards and winery are located in Le Barry, one of the oldest hamlets in Montpeyroux, overlooked by the Castellas (an 11th-century castle).

The vineyards are all classified under the Montpeyroux and Coteau du Languedoc AOCs and are planted with Carignan—the king of the “Mont Pierreux”—as well as Cinsault, Syrah, and Grenache.

Some of these vines, including the Cinsault, are over 40 years old and thus contribute to the grapes’—and subsequently the wine’s—exceptional concentration.

The different cuvées are vinified variety by variety. The optimal conditions for blending will only be determined once the wines are finished.

To protect the environment, from harvest to bottling, the work is carried out with deep respect for the grapes, which are always harvested at full ripeness.
