The Screening:
Les Habitants, 2016, A film by Raymond Depardon
Raymond Depardon gives a voice to the French people. From Charleville-Mézières to Nice, from Sète to Cherbourg, he invites people he meets on the street to continue their conversation in his trailer, without constraints and in complete freedom.
A portrait of today’s France.
Aboard his camper van, Raymond Depardon travels across France and, equipped with two large-format cameras, captures—between 2004 and 2010—images faithful to his humanistic vision.
Claudine Nougaret, his partner and longtime sound engineer, has in turn unearthed old, previously unseen film clips that the filmmaker has carefully preserved since his early days.
