MAS DE VALBRUNE

There is a hill, in the Hérault valley, very particular and full of history:
the Pic de Vissou.
More than 300 million years ago, when the sea covered everything, an enormous folding
lifts the land and turns the rocks over.
The subsoil is completely turned upside down! The result is a unique geological structure.
It is in this cradle that Jean-Pierre VAILHE, owner-winemaker of Mas de Valbrune, cultivates his vines. Another part is located in the middle of Hérault on the commune of Tressan.
They grow on lean, dry and stony soil: the schists of Cabrières retain water and heat, and will give
authentic and balanced wines, fruity and mineral. The grape variety of Mas de Valbrune is composed of
Cinsault, Syrah and Grenache. The grapes are picked at maturity, with the greatest care, then they are vinified
in sloping vintages, favoring manual and traditional operations.
