Wildfire Risk Prevention
To prevent forest fire risks, the Hérault Prefect has signed an order regulating access to forest areas and woodlands.
Daily Fire Risk Monitoring
The prefectural order regulates access, visitor numbers, and movement until 30 September 2026.
As a result, public access to forest areas is restricted when fire risk is high (orange level), and fully prohibited when fire risk is very high (red level).
It is based on the daily fire risk map, published every day at 6pm:
Forest areas concerned
The Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert forest, the Causse d'Aumelas and the Moure hills (East and West), the Gardiole forest, the Pic Saint-Loup forest, the Bois des Aresquiers, the Bois de Saint-Sauveur and Grand Patus, the Bois du Puech de Fédédiou and Puech du Priou, the Forêt des Pierres-Blanches, Mont Saint-Loup, the Cirque de Mourèze and Montagne de Liausson, the Bois du Puech des Mourgues and Bois Nègre, and the Saint-Guiraud forest.
